A new global benchmark for menopause support at work

With October marking Menopause Awareness Month, and this year’s World Menopause Day focusing on Chronic Pain at Midlife, there is a renewed focus on how organisations can better support employees experiencing menstruation, perimenopause and menopause in the workplace.

Published in September, ISO 45010:2026 is the world’s first international standard dedicated to menstruation and menopause at work, providing organisations with practical guidance for creating healthier, more supportive workplaces.

To support organisations in putting this guidance into practice, we have created an article exploring what ISO 45010 covers, what it means for employers and the practical steps they can take to improve menopause support at work. Read more.

We have also launched our new Menopause and the Workplace eLearning course, designed to build awareness and help organisations create a more supportive workplace.

Beyond insurance: Building a more resilient commercial risk strategy

Commercial insurance remains essential, but today’s risk environment is becoming harder to predict, price and fully insure.

Climate volatility, cyber threats, supply chain disruption, workforce pressures and emerging technologies are creating exposures that can affect operations, people, customers and capital at the same time. As a result, organisations need to look beyond insurance alone and consider how risk transfer, risk management, risk retention and resilience work together.

This article explores each of these areas, how they influence total cost of risk and why a more integrated approach can help strengthen insurance decisions, improve resilience and support better business performance. Read more.

Driving risk could be your biggest risk

For many organisations, driving for work is one of the most significant risks employees face. Yet fleet safety can still be treated as an operational issue, something managed through driver training, vehicle checks and policies rather than as a wider leadership responsibility.

This article explains why management involvement matters, where organisational failures can increase road risk and how Cardinus is helping managers take greater ownership of fleet safety. Read more.

8 reasons the office chair is misunderstood, undervalued, and disrespected

The office chair is one of the most-used pieces of workplace equipment, yet it is often selected on price or appearance and then largely forgotten. Poor fit, limited adjustability and ageing chairs can all contribute to discomfort, musculoskeletal issues and unnecessary costs.

In this guest article, ergonomics expert Alison Heller-Ono explores eight reasons why office chairs are often misunderstood and undervalued, and shares practical steps organisations can take to manage seating more strategically, improve employee comfort and reduce risk. Read more.
